Site Engineer
A leading multi-million pound civil engineering and infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a major water treatment upgrade scheme in the Midlands.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project delivering critical infrastructure improvements within the UK water sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
– Setting out and surveying for a range of civil engineering works.
– Managing and overseeing construction activities relating to reinforced concrete (RC) structures, drainage networks, and buried pipework installations.
– Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, drawings, and programme requirements.
– Producing and maintaining accurate QA documentation.
– Completing and managing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
– Preparing and updating as-built records and drawings.
– Undertaking quality inspections and ensuring compliance with client standards and specifications.
– Supporting site management teams with technical queries and engineering solutions.
– Liaising with subcontractors, supervisors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient project delivery.
– Maintaining accurate site records and progress reports.
Requirements:
– Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or water infrastructure projects.
– Strong background in RC structures, drainage, and pipework installations.
– Experience managing quality assurance processes, including QA documentation, ITPs, and as-built records.
– Competent in setting out using modern surveying equipment.
– Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
– CSCS Card (essential).
– SMSTS or SSSTS (desirable).
– Water industry experience (highly desirable).
– Strong communication and organisational skills.
