The Opportunity

We are recruiting for an experienced Site Manager to join a specialist civil engineering contractor delivering a range of environmental, water, flood defence, and infrastructure projects across the South West and Southern regions.

The business has a strong reputation for delivering complex civils schemes, including river and coastal defence works, drainage infrastructure, culverts, outfalls, and environmental improvement projects for public and private sector clients. They are known for their collaborative approach, technical expertise, and commitment to health, safety, and quality.

The Role

Initially, you will provide management support on a live culvert and drainage project in Dorset before transitioning onto further environmental and tidal infrastructure schemes in Hampshire. The role offers continuity of work across multiple projects and would suit a Site Manager with a strong civils, infrastructure, or Environment Agency background.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with programme and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Manage all day-to-day site operations across civil engineering and environmental projects.

Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, materials, and site logistics.

Ensure works are completed safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.

Maintain health, safety, and environmental compliance across all site activities.

Produce and manage site documentation, permits, RAMS, and progress reporting.

Liaise with engineers, clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

Manage project programmes, resource allocation, and daily site activities.

Ensure quality assurance procedures and site records are maintained accurately.

Lead site meetings and provide regular progress updates to senior management.

Requirements

Previous experience as a Site Manager within civil engineering, environmental, water, drainage, or infrastructure projects.

Strong understanding of site management, health and safety, and programme delivery.

Experience managing teams and subcontractors on live construction projects.

Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.

Ability to work across multiple project locations when required.

First Aid at Work

Desirable

Environment Agency project experience.

SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme).

Water, flood defence, drainage, or coastal infrastructure experience.
