Freelance Technician
Freelance Architectural Technician | Newcastle upon Tyne | £30per hour Immediate start.
An established and growing architectural practice in Newcastle is seeking an experienced Freelance Architectural Technician to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects across the Healthcare, Commercial, Residential, and Education sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong professional who can work independently, contribute to project delivery from planning through to construction, and collaborate effectively within a busy design team.
The Role
You will be responsible for producing high-quality technical information, coordinating project documentation, and supporting the successful delivery of projects across a range of sectors. The successful candidate will be comfortable managing their own workload while working closely with architects, consultants, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed technical drawings and construction information.
Prepare and coordinate planning, building regulations, and construction packages.
Develop and manage Revit models in line with BIM standards.
Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities.
Ensure projects comply with UK Building Regulations and relevant technical standards.
Support project delivery through all RIBA work stages.
Assist with technical problem-solving and design coordination.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience working as an Architectural Technician or Architectural Technologist within a UK architectural practice.
Strong technical knowledge of UK construction methods, detailing, and Building Regulations.
Proficient in Revit with good BIM coordination experience.
Experience delivering projects across one or more of the Healthcare, Industrial, Commercial, Education, or Residential sectors.
Ability to manage workloads independently and meet project deadlines.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
CIAT accreditation or equivalent experience is desirable but not essential.
