As part of their continued expansion and growing project pipeline, they are now seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, working on a flagship high-rise development in Manchester City Centre.
The Role
As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:
Supporting the commercial management of a high-rise residential development from procurement through to final account
Assisting with subcontractor procurement, tender analysis, and package buyout
Preparing and processing subcontractor payments and valuations
Supporting the management of variations and change control procedures
Assisting with cost reporting, forecasting, and budget monitoring
Maintaining accurate commercial records and project documentation
Working closely with the Quantity Surveyor, Site Team, and Project Management team to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
Supporting the preparation and agreement of final accounts
Building and maintaining strong working relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and key stakeholdersThe Ideal Candidate
The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will have:
Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Trainee Quantity Surveyor role within construction
Experience working on residential, mixed-use, or high-rise developments would be advantageous
A good understanding of construction contracts and commercial processes
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop professionally
The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced project environment
A relevant construction or quantity surveying qualification, or currently studying towards oneWhat's on Offer
