Our client, a well-established and growing construction business, is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Plymouth.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a reputable contractor delivering a range of high-quality projects across the South West. The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of projects from inception through to final account, working within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for:

Managing the commercial aspects of multiple construction projects.

*

Preparing cost plans, valuations, and forecasts.

*

Procuring subcontractors and managing subcontract accounts.

*

Preparing and submitting applications for payment.

*

Managing variations and change control.

*

Producing cost reports and ensuring projects remain within budget.

*

Negotiating final accounts.

*

Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

*

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

*

A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

*

Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.

*

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

*

Strong communication and organisational abilities.

*

The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

*

A full UK driving licence.
