A M&E Quantity Surveyor is required. We have an exciting new opportunity for a M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a large M&E Contractor in Birmingham working across our client sites. In this role you will implement best commercial practices to maintain and maximise the profitability and financial performance of the project

M&E Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

* Take full financial and commercial responsibility for a portfolio of contracts ensuring that we cost effectively deliver contracted services as well as additional services, within legislative and contractual obligations

* Responsible for the pro-active financial support of the delivery teams to process monthly valuations, applications, forecasts and any variations

* NEC contract specific.

* Responsible for the timely and accurate administration of contracts assigned including but not limited to the compilation and submission of EoT requests, variations etc.

* Ensure that contracts are correctly administered in accordance with the relevant legal framework In a timely manner to carry out financial forecasting and reporting of cost, sales, gross profit, and risk associated with all projects assigned to you

* Ensure that statutory obligations are met in full and ensure that the business is not exposed to undue risks, with regular reporting on mitigation measures

* Ensure that records, data and systems are maintained up to date and in accordance with standards, policies and procedures

* Maintain excellent client relationships, develop, and maximise opportunities for additional revenue and margin and contract retention

* Work with all stakeholders to identify opportunities in line with business strategy

M&E Quantity Surveyor Job Specifics

* Generate studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs pre and post contract as required.

* Report any opportunities you have identified with existing and new clients and provide information and assistance to estimating team to allow them to tender/quote.

* Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, schedule of rates etc.

* Integrate with the estimating team to achieve robust prime costs and seamless transition through to contract stage providing attendance at client meetings and site visits, as necessary.

* Preparing, negotiating, analysing, and reporting on supply chain costs for tenders and contracts.

* Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risk.

* Ensure that agreed contract terms are in place for each engagement and manage contract works in accordance with those contract terms.

* Ensure that additional work opportunities are financially closed out in the month of work completion.

* Manage quantity surveying teams (where applicable) ensuring that resources are efficiently allocated to contracts for the contract.

* Manage supply chain and sub-contractor engagement contracts from enquiry stage through to practical completion and retention release.

* Identify change requirements and expedite opportunities to maximise revenue and to de-risk contract delivery.

* Report on contract commercial and financial performance in accordance with company KPI protocols.

* Manage financial application, job costing, and forecasting update processes for contract sales.

£80,000 – £90,000 + Package depending on experience
