GVR Solutions are working with a growing specialist joinery contractor delivering high-quality joinery fit out packages across residential, commercial, education, healthcare, and mixed-use developments throughout London and the South East. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious commercial professional looking to join a specialist contractor with a strong reputation and genuine opportunities for progression.

Responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor:

* Prepare, submit, and negotiate interim valuations and applications for payment.

* Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow.

* Produce accurate cost value reconciliations (CVRs) on a monthly basis.

* Identify commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

* Manage project variations, change control processes, and compensation events.

* Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and main contractors.

* Review and administer contracts including JCT forms and bespoke subcontract agreements.

* Ensure contractual compliance and protect the company's commercial position.

* Manage notices, extensions of time, loss and expense claims, and contractual correspondence where required.

* Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, main contractors, consultants, and supply chain partners.

* Attend project meetings and provide commercial support to operational teams.

* Work collaboratively with site teams to ensure commercial and operational objectives are aligned.

* Present project performance updates and financial forecasts.

* Provide strategic commercial input to support business planning and growth.

Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor:

* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

* Experience working for a specialist subcontractor, ideally within carpentry, joinery, fit-out, interiors, or related trades.

* Strong understanding of construction contracts, particularly JCT forms.

* Excellent knowledge of valuations, variations, CVRs, subcontract management, and final accounts.

* Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
