Freelance Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced No.1 Site Manager to provide two weeks’ holiday cover on a live recladding project near Tower Bridge.

The successful candidate will take full day-to-day responsibility for the site, maintaining safe and efficient operations while ensuring the programme, quality standards and project procedures are followed.

Key responsibilities

* Manage all daily site operations as the project’s No.1 Site Manager.

* Coordinate subcontractors, labour, deliveries and access.

* Oversee recladding and associated façade works.

* Conduct site inductions, daily briefings and toolbox talks.

* Maintain health and safety standards, site records and statutory inspections.

* Review RAMS and ensure works are completed in accordance with approved procedures.

* Monitor progress against the programme and address delays or coordination issues.

* Carry out quality inspections and manage defects or non-conforming work.

* Liaise with the client, project team, residents or building management as required.

* Provide clear daily reports and a thorough handover at the end of the cover period.

* Manage any temporary works, lifting operations and scaffold interfaces within the scope of the project.

Essential requirements

* Proven experience working as a No.1 Site Manager on recladding, façade or external-envelope projects.

* Experience managing occupied or live-site environments.

* Strong knowledge of current UK health and safety requirements.

* Valid SMSTS.

* Valid CSCS card.

* First Aid at Work.

* Asbestos Awareness.

* Fire Marshal qualification.

* Excellent subcontractor management, communication and record-keeping skills.

* Ability to take control of an established project with minimal supervision.

Desirable

* Temporary Works Coordinator qualification.

* Experience with high-rise or complex London projects.

* Familiarity with rainscreen cladding, insulation, fire barriers and remediation works.

* Scaffold inspection or lifting-management experience.

* Knowledge of Building Safety Act and façade-remediation requirements.

This position would suit a confident, hands-on Site Manager who can quickly understand an established project and maintain continuity during the permanent manager’s absence
