Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager – Residential

Location – Manchester

Salary/Package – £35,000 – £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Package

About the Company

Our client is an established residential construction contractor specialising in the delivery of high-quality Design & Build projects. The business has developed a strong reputation for delivering residential developments with a focus on quality, programme, commercial control, and client satisfaction.

With an expanding portfolio of residential projects ranging from £5m to £100m, the business is now looking to strengthen its commercial and project delivery team with an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS / Project Manager looking to develop their career across both the commercial and operational sides of residential construction.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the commercial and project management teams across residential D&B projects

Assisting with project budgets, cost control, valuations, and forecasting

Supporting subcontract procurement and supply chain management

Assisting with the preparation of CVRs and commercial reports

Monitoring project progress against programme and budget

Supporting the management of subcontractors and suppliers

Working closely with site and project teams to ensure successful project delivery

Assisting with variations, valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documentation

Supporting the Project Manager and Senior QS throughout the project lifecycle

Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers

The Ideal Candidate

The successful Assistant QS / Project Manager will have:

Previous experience within residential construction

Experience within either Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a combination of both

Exposure to Design & Build projects would be advantageous

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction processes

Good numerical and analytical skills

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Strong attention to detail

Good IT and Microsoft Excel skills

A proactive attitude and desire to develop within the business

Relevant construction or Quantity Surveying qualification would be advantageous
