CAD Technician
An opportunity has arisen for a CAD Technician to join a well-established London design and build contractor. The business has spent over 12 years delivering premium residential and commercial developments across the capital, with 25 plus completed projects and a strong pipeline of live schemes worth from £750k upwards.
This is a varied, office-based role sitting alongside the main Project Manager, supporting live projects with drawings, take-offs and technical input. It is a good opportunity for someone who wants to be genuinely involved in project delivery rather than working in isolation, gaining exposure to the full design and build cycle across a mix of residential and commercial schemes.
CAD Technician Salary & Benefits
Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (DOE)
Fully office based in London (SM6)
28 Days Holiday Including Bank Holidays)

CAD Technician Job Overview
Produce and update CAD drawings to support live residential and commercial projects
Assist the main Project Manager with technical and drawing-based tasks
Read construction plans and drawings accurately, identifying quantities and elements for input into the company's internal software
Input take-off data accurately and consistently, ensuring project records remain up to date
Coordinate with the wider project team to ensure information is clear and current
Support the preparation of tender and project documentation where required
Maintain drawing registers and version control across live projects
Assist with markups, revisions and general drawing office support
CAD Technician Requirements
Proven experience in a CAD or drawing office role within construction, architecture or a related environment
Strong AutoCAD 2D capability; wider design software experience is advantageous
Able to read and interpret construction drawings and plans confidently and accurately
Comfortable with data input and take-offs, understanding what is being measured and why
Well organised with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fully office-based environment as part of a small, close-knit team
Good communication skills and a proactive approach
Based within commutable distance of the SM6 area
