Quantity Surveyor – Civils

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established civils contractor delivering a range of projects across the North East.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS with a strong background in civil engineering and groundworks to join a growing business with a strong pipeline of work.

The Role

*

Managing the commercial aspects of civils projects from tender through to final account

*

Preparing and managing valuations, applications for payment and variations

*

Managing subcontractor accounts and payments

*

Cost forecasting and monitoring project performance

*

Managing change, risk and commercial reporting

*

Reviewing contracts and ensuring commercial obligations are met

*

Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and clients

*

Assisting with procurement and tendering activities

*

Maintaining accurate commercial records and reporting

About You

*

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering/groundworks

*

Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts

*

Experience managing subcontractors and client accounts

*

Good understanding of costs, valuations, variations and final accounts

*

Strong communication and negotiation skills

*

Able to work independently and manage multiple projects

*

Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience

Civils and groundworks experience is essential.
