We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Estimator to join an established civil engineering contractor delivering a range of projects across the North East.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure, with the ability to lead tenders from initial enquiry through to submission.
The Role
*
Leading the preparation of tenders for civils and infrastructure projects
*
Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and contract documentation
*
Producing detailed and accurate cost estimates
*
Managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and quotations
*
Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options
*
Preparing competitive tender submissions
*
Working closely with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
*
Supporting the development of tender strategies and pricing
*
Assisting with contract negotiations and tender clarifications
*
Leading the handover of successful tenders to the commercial and delivery teams
*
Supporting and mentoring junior estimators where required
*
Maintaining accurate estimating records and cost databases
About You
*
Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within civil engineering/groundworks
*
Strong knowledge of roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and infrastructure
*
Experience independently managing multiple tenders
*
Strong understanding of construction methods, costs and buildability
*
Commercially astute with excellent analytical skills
*
Strong negotiation and communication abilities
*
Able to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors
*
Relevant civil engineering/commercial qualification or equivalent experience
Strong civils estimating experience is essential.
