Supervisor (Painting & Decorating)
About the Role
We are recruiting for an experienced and personable Working Supervisor to join a growing, high-end painting and decorating business.
This is a hands-on role for an experienced Painter & Decorator who enjoys working on the tools while also leading a small team. You will supervise up to 5 decorators, ensuring projects are completed to an exceptional standard while maintaining a professional and calm approach with clients, colleagues and suppliers.
Projects will include high-spec residential properties and commercial spaces, so you must be comfortable working on busy construction sites as well as within occupied, client-facing homes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead by example, working alongside the team on high-spec decorating projects.
* Supervise and coordinate a team of up to 5 decorators.
* Allocate daily tasks and provide guidance and support to team members.
* Ensure work is completed to a high standard, on time and within budget.
* Act as the main point of contact for clients, colleagues and suppliers on site.
* Communicate professionally and confidently with clients, including within occupied homes.
* Coordinate schedules and support the smooth running of projects.
* Identify and resolve issues proactively on site.
* Maintain a clean, safe and respectful working environment.
* Support team development and promote high standards of workmanship.
* Promote sustainable and environmentally conscious working practices.
About You
* Proven experience as a professional Painter & Decorator.
* Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
* Experience working within high-end residential and/or commercial environments.
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work.
* Professional, personable and calm manner.
* Strong communication and client-facing skills.
* Organised, proactive and able to work independently.
* Confident working across construction sites and occupied residential properties.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
* Committed to quality, craftsmanship and sustainable working practices.
* Valid CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
