Freelance Site Engineer

Kenton Black are recruiting for a Freelance Site Engineer on behalf of a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor within the Aberdeenshire area.

Location: Peterhead
Duration: 6 Months+
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Competitive CIS/Ltd Company Rate (Dependent on Experience)

Our client, a reputable infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support ongoing substation works in Peterhead. This is an excellent opportunity to join a major energy project, where you will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

– Carry out setting out and surveying duties for substation and associated civil engineering works
– Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and project requirements
– Maintain accurate site records including as-built information, quality documentation, and daily reports
– Support the site management team with planning and coordination of site activities
– Liaise with subcontractors and project stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery of works
– Conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project standards
– Promote and maintain strong health & safety standards across the site
– Assist in resolving technical issues and provide engineering support throughout the project

Requirements:

– Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on civil engineering, infrastructure, or substation projects
– Proficient in setting out using Leica, Trimble, or equivalent surveying equipment
– Strong understanding of QA procedures and engineering documentation
– Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
– Excellent communication and organisational skills
– Valid CSCS Card
– SSSTS or SMSTS preferred
– Full UK Driving Licence
