Site Manager

We are partnerered with a contractor with a strong presence across London and the South East. They specialise in delivering high-quality residential developments and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) schemes, often on logistically complex, high-density urban sites. Their projects typically range from £20m to £100m in value. With a growing portfolio in Central London, they are looking to appoint a Site Manager with a proven track record in delivering similar schemes to join our established project team.

Role Overview:

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will take full responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations on-site. You will ensure that construction activities are executed to the highest safety, quality, and programme standards. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working on multi-unit residential or PBSA projects in dense urban environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily site operations and manage construction works to ensure programme, quality, and safety targets are met.

Supervise subcontractors, direct labour, and suppliers to ensure coordinated and efficient site delivery.

Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures, conducting regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.

*

Work closely with the Project Manager and design teams to ensure that construction drawings and information are up to date and accurate.

*

Maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship.

*

Monitor progress against the construction programme and contribute to short-term planning.

*

Manage logistics on site, including material deliveries, storage, access, and crane operations.

*

Liaise with local authorities, utility providers, and residents where required.

*

Ensure site documentation is up to date, including diaries, RAMS, induction records, and progress reports.

*

Assist in managing site budgets, variations, and subcontractor performance.

Requirements:

*

Proven experience as a Site Manager on large-scale residential or PBSA schemes (£20m+), ideally in Central London.

*

Strong understanding of reinforced concrete frame construction, internal fit-out, and external envelope delivery.

*

SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.

*

CSCS card (Black or Gold preferred).

*

First Aid at Work certification.

*

Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.

*

Ability to work in high-pressure environments and maintain a strong attention to detail.

*

Competent with site-based IT systems (Asta Powerproject, Viewpoint, Fieldview or similar desirable).

Desirable Qualifications:

HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management or related discipline.

*

Experience with BREEAM, sustainability compliance, and modern construction methods.
