Project Document Controller – Principle Contractor

We are currently seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Document Controller to join a Principal Contractors dynamic team working on major construction and MEP projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to play a vital role in the successful delivery of complex projects by managing the flow of critical documentation and ensuring compliance with both internal standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Documentation & SharePoint Management

*

Maintain and control project documentation via SharePoint and client platforms.

*

Download, log, and distribute technical/design information and drawings.

*

Configure user permissions and ensure accurate access levels.

*

Conduct quality checks on incoming CAD drawings and files.

*

Manage printing, scanning, and filing of key documents, including RAMS.

Compliance & Induction Coordination

*

Coordinate operative inductions via PME InnDex and client systems.

*

Validate induction forms and check for competency requirements.

Health & Safety Documentation

*

Collate and distribute essential H&S documentation (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, Toolbox Talks).

*

Create and maintain subcontractor H&S packs.

*

Organise monthly forums and ensure effective information distribution.

Project Oversight & Reporting

*

Schedule site inspections and ensure timelines are met.

*

Perform daily and weekly updates on documentation status.

*

Issue reports on Status B, C, and QA rejected documents.

*

Track outstanding client responses to project documents.

RAMS & Document Reviews

*

Conduct quarterly reviews of RAMS for accuracy and relevance.

*

Re-upload revised RAMS to the client system and ensure subcontractor compliance.

(Where applicable) Senior/Lead Document Controller

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

*

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook

*

Understanding of electronic document management systems such as Aconex, Kahua, or Asite

*

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

*

High level of typing accuracy and efficiency

*

Strong organisational and filing skills, with adherence to GDPR regulations

*

Keen attention to detail to ensure all project documents meet required standards

Desirable:

*

ISO 9001 qualification

*

Previous experience working with clients, directors, and departmental managers

*

Industry-specific technical knowledge, including familiarity with relevant policies, processes, and terminology

Salary: £40-45K
