Site Engineer

Keyman Personnel, a specialist recruitment business serving the construction and civil engineering industries, is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Site Engineer to join a respected and growing contractor.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of high-profile industrial and commercial construction projects, providing technical and setting out support across a variety of live sites.

Job Purpose:

As a Site Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring construction works are set out and delivered to specification, with a focus on technical accuracy, quality assurance, and site coordination. You’ll support the site management team with real-time engineering input, contributing to a safe, compliant, and high-performing project environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting Out & Surveying

Interpret and set out works from construction drawings and specifications

*

Conduct levelling, traversing, and volume calculations using GPS and Total Station equipment

Technical Support

*

Liaise with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve site issues

*

Ensure compliance with design specs, regulations, and technical standards

Quality Assurance

*

Monitor works and perform inspections against technical drawings

*

Maintain detailed QA records (e.g., ITPs, checklists, redlines)

Health & Safety

*

Support and enforce HSE policies and site safety procedures

*

Report unsafe practices and contribute to a positive safety culture

Reporting & Documentation

*

Keep accurate site diaries, plant/machinery logs, and material records

*

Assist in compiling progress reports and relevant technical documentation

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

*

Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or related discipline

*

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Site Engineer (commercial/industrial sector preferred)

*

Proficient in setting out using GPS and Total Station

*

Strong knowledge of QA, health & safety, and construction practices

*

CSCS card (Engineering level)

*

Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

*

SMSTS or SSSTS qualification

*

First Aid at Work certification

*

Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor experience

*

Background in design & build projects

High attention to detail and technical accuracy

Clear and confident communication skills

*

Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities

Competence in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and surveying software

*

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within project teams
