Entry from Outside Industry: £40,000–£50,000 basic + £15,000–£20,000 commission OTE

A well-established design and build contractor on the South Coast is looking to appoint a Business Development Executive to join their growing commercial team. Role Overview:

This is a front-line sales role focused on identifying, qualifying, and developing new business opportunities within the commercial interior fit-out space. Working as part of a fast-paced, supportive team, you’ll be responsible for driving the pipeline of design & build projects across the South Coast.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively research, identify, and engage potential clients using phone, LinkedIn, email, and other outbound channels.

*

Qualify opportunities and pass warm, high-value leads to the Sales Director and wider commercial team.

*

Build and manage a pipeline of prospects, ensuring opportunities are accurately tracked within the CRM (Pipedrive).

*

Work closely with the Marketing team to support campaigns and outreach strategies.

*

Represent the company in a professional, enthusiastic manner – both over the phone and in client-facing interactions.

*

Track sales activity, record key information, and maintain data hygiene across all systems.

*

Hit clear KPIs around activity levels, qualified opportunities, and project value moved through the pipeline.

What We're Looking For:

*

Proven success in a sales, lead generation, or business development role.

*

Prior experience in the design & build, fit-out, or construction sectors is highly desirable – but not essential for the right person with strong commercial instincts.

*

Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and resilient, with excellent organisational skills.

*

Professional communicator with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers.

*

Experience with CRM systems (ideally Pipedrive) and Office 365.

*

Strong work ethic and a genuine interest in interiors, design, or commercial spaces is a bonus.

KPIs You’ll Be Working Towards:

Generating £250,000 in weekly leads handed to sales.

*

Moving £750,000 of qualified opportunities per week through the pipeline.

*

Completing 250+ sales activities weekly.

*

Targeting £1.4m annual gross profit from converted projects.
