Project Manager -Civils
Overview:
My client is looking for an experienced and driven Civils Project Manager to join their team, managing civil engineering projects across the South Midlands. You will take ownership of all project phases, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of health, safety, and quality — all while upholding the company values and reputation.
You’ll be the key link between the site teams, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring smooth communication, efficient resource planning, and seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the construction site day-to-day, including labour supervision, subcontractor management, materials coordination, inspections, and quality assurance.
*
Oversee the full project lifecycle from mobilisation to handover.
*
Implement and monitor the Health & Safety Plan; maintain RAMS and ensure site compliance with regulations.
*
Obtain all required permits and licenses from relevant authorities.
*
Develop and manage work schedules, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising safety or quality.
*
Monitor project costs against budgets and ensure financial targets are achieved.
*
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, providing clear and regular progress updates.
*
Coordinate resource planning including manpower, plant, and materials to support effective project delivery.
*
Plan project phases and manage logistics to maintain momentum and achieve key milestones.
*
Supervise and support site engineers, foremen, and subcontractors — providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
*
Review and manage contractor performance, site timesheets, and staff scheduling.
*
Order, track, and reconcile materials, managing wastage and cost.
*
Conduct quarterly 1:1 reviews with engineers, site managers, and foremen.
*
Prepare detailed progress reports for senior management.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as a Civils Project Manager or Senior Site Manager on infrastructure or groundworks projects.
*
Strong working knowledge of construction techniques, project scheduling, and site management.
*
Familiarity with programming and project management software
*
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and team coordination skills.
*
Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-focused mindset.
*
Able to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure.
*
Full UK Driving Licence (required due to site travel).
Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential):
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
*
SMSTS or equivalent safety certification
*
First Aid qualification
*
CSCS card (Manager level or equivalent)
