Quantity Surveyor – Piling
Dewey Group is currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support a landmark infrastructure project in the South-West. This high-profile scheme offers a long-term opportunity to work at the forefront of major infrastructure delivery.
As a Quantity Surveyor on this project, you’ll play a key role in managing the commercial and contractual elements of specialist packages, including piling and complex ground engineering works. You’ll collaborate closely with operational teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective project delivery and rigorous commercial control across all phases.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of piling and civils packages from pre-contract through to final account.
*
Prepare, submit, and agree interim applications, variations, and final accounts.
*
Monitor project costs, forecasts, and cash flow to maintain strong financial control and risk management.
*
Work closely with operational teams to review project progress, assess value of works completed, and support commercial decision-making.
*
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and contract compliance.
*
Assist with preparation of monthly cost/value reconciliations and client reporting.
*
Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities in line with project objectives and commercial strategy.
*
Ensure all contractual notices and records are maintained in accordance with NEC or other relevant forms of contract.
Essential Skills & Experience:
*
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a civil engineering, piling, or infrastructure environment.
*
Strong understanding of commercial processes and contract law within construction.
*
Experience working under NEC contracts.
*
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
*
Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced project setting with attention to detail and commercial foresight.
Desirable:
*
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a relevant construction-related discipline.
*
Experience in regulated sectors such as nuclear, utilities, or major infrastructure.
*
Member of a relevant professional body (RICS, CIOB, etc.).
