Site Manager – Oxford / Bicester / Reading
Avolon M&E are working with a client who have won a significant number of projects between the Oxford, Bicester and Reading areas.
They require an experienced Site Manager to be site-based within this area, working within newly-established regional teams.
Our client's average project size is £3–8m in value, with 6 to 9-month programme durations. Work is primarily fit outs.
Salary: Competitive depending on experience + package
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Manager to oversee fit out projects from start to finish. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on site, ensuring that works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
* Manage all on-site activities for fit out projects, including subcontractor coordination, site logistics, and client liaison.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures.
* Monitor project progress against programme and budget, reporting to the Project Manager.
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
* Manage and motivate site teams to deliver high-performance outcomes.
* Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
* Attend project meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
* Resolve site-based issues efficiently and proactively.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager, ideally on fit out or refurbishment projects.
* Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building regulations.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold Card), and First Aid at Work certifications.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and programmes.
* IT literacy, including familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office.
