Construction Manager

M&E Construction Manager – Oxford / Bicester / Reading

Avolon M&E are working with a client who have won a significant number of projects between the Oxford, Bicester and Reading areas.

They require an experienced M&E Construction Manager to be site-based within this area, working within newly-established regional teams.

Our client's average project size is £3–8m in value, with 6 to 9-month programme durations. Work is primarily fit outs.

Salary: Competitive depending on experience + package

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and proactive M&E Construction Manager to oversee the mechanical and electrical installation works on high-profile construction projects. You will be responsible for coordinating M&E subcontractors, ensuring technical compliance, managing quality and safety on site, and driving project delivery to schedule and budget.

Responsibilities:

* Manage the installation and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems on site.

* Coordinate M&E subcontractors and ensure their works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

* Ensure all installations comply with design intent, regulatory standards, and client requirements.

* Review and monitor programme, highlighting any risks to delivery or interfaces with other trades.

* Work closely with the design team, consultants, and the main contractor to resolve technical queries.

* Conduct quality inspections, snagging, and ensure compliance with commissioning plans.

* Manage health and safety on site in accordance with company policies and statutory requirements.

* Attend site meetings and report progress and issues to senior project stakeholders.

* Support in testing, handover, and close-out documentation, including O&M manuals and as-builts.

Qualifications:

* Proven experience as an M&E Manager or similar role on relevant construction projects.

* Strong technical knowledge.

* Ability to interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and coordination models.

* Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.

* SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS (relevant card), and First Aid certification.

* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with project management tools.
