Head of Business Development – Retrofit & Surveying Consultancy
Location: Hybrid (with central office access)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits

We’re working in partnership with a highly regarded consultancy that delivers specialist surveying, domestic retrofit, and building safety services, primarily within the social housing sector. Following a sustained period of growth, the organisation is now seeking a Head of Business Development to lead its commercial strategy and drive the next stage of expansion.
This is a senior-level appointment, suited to someone with experience in technical sales, consultancy, or professional services, ideally with exposure to housing, retrofit, or the built environment.
The Opportunity
The successful candidate will work closely with the Directors to lead business development, marketing, client acquisition, and sector engagement. They will also act as a visible ambassador for the organisation—presenting at events, building new partnerships, and enhancing the organisation’s brand presence in key markets.
Key Requirements
A proven background in business development, preferably in technical or consultative sales
Experience in social housing, sustainability, retrofit, or related sectors (highly desirable)
A relevant degree (e.g., Business, Marketing, Surveying); an MBA is a bonus
Excellent relationship-building, networking, and presentation skills
Commercially strategic, yet comfortable with hands-on delivery
Familiarity with frameworks, tenders, and long-cycle B2B sales
