Our client is an esteemed, family-owned business with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality structural steelwork design, fabrication, and installation services.

As part of their continued expansion, they are seeking a Structural Engineer with over 5 years of experience to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to complex, large-scale projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your input and expertise will be valued.

The Role:

You'll play a key role in the design and delivery of structural steelwork projects ranging from 5 to 1,000 tonnes. Your responsibilities will include:

Designing steelwork connections in accordance with British Standards and Eurocodes

Using both software (e.g., Tekla Fastrak Design Suite) and manual methods for structural calculations

Attending and contributing to design meetings, estimates, and tender reviews

Collaborating with architects and contractors to provide practical, cost-effective design solutions

Coordinating with internal and external drafting teams to ensure seamless project execution

Overseeing projects from initial tender through to final completion

Requirements:

Minimum 5 years' experience in structural steelwork design

Strong understanding of steel fabrication and relevant construction codes

Confident in producing supplementary hand calculations

Proficiency in Tekla Fastrak Design Suite and AutoCAD preferred

Chartered status (IStructE or ICE) or working towards it

Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and engage directly with clients
