Lead Planner

Matchtech are working with a leading contractor in the water sector who is seeking an experienced Lead Planner to join their team on a permanent basis on projects based in Kent.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days per week on site in Kent, supporting key projects within the UK water industry.

This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of MEICA (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation) systems, and demonstrable experience within the water sector, ideally with exposure to AMP (Asset Management Programme) frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and maintain detailed project schedules for water infrastructure and MEICA-related projects.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure schedules are realistic and aligned with project goals.
Monitor project progress, identify delays, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Ensure planning and reporting processes align with company and client standards.
Provide leadership to junior planners and contribute to the continuous improvement of planning practices.

Skills/experience/qualifications

Proven experience as a planner in the UK water industry, ideally within an AMP framework.
Senior/Lead experience desirable – must be able to hit the ground running
Strong MEICA project experience desirable
Proficiency with industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, Asta).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Based within commutable distance to Kent or willing to travel 3 days per week to site.
Experience delivering complex utility or infrastructure projects.Benefits
