Health And Safety Manager
I am currently working with leading M&E contractor who operates within the building services sector. It provides a range of mechanical and electrical engineering solutions to clients across various industries. As it stands the business generates an annual turnover of more than £200 million and are across a diverse range of construction markets including high end, mid-level residential, commercial fitouts, data centre delivery, offsite modular engineering and the growing life science sectors.
Health and Safety Manager Opportunity:
My client are currently seeking a proactive and confident Health and Safety Manager to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will be responsible for managing your own schedule, dividing your time between site visits and office-based work. The business operates from two office locations; Central London and East London and you’ll have the flexibility to choose your preferred base. Currently managing 16 live projects, with an average of 20 at any given time. You will take ownership of 4 to 5 projects, depending on scope and location. Each assigned site will typically require 2 to 3 visits per month, allowing you to provide consistent, hands-on support while maintaining autonomy over your workload.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* HSQE Project and documentation support including Preliminary and Construction Stage Safety and Health Plans
* Maintain compliance with current Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and maintain awareness of legislative changes and industry standards.
* Obtaining and reviewing safety documentation from Clients, Suppliers and Subcontractors
* Carrying out Site Inspections and produce reports.
* Assist the site team in the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments and associated documentation and records.
* Prepare and carry out site toolbox talks.
* Daily/weekly reporting to the Business, project management staff and client
* Conduct incident/accident investigations and prepare reports for internal/external purposes.
* Provide HSQE advice and direction to staff and contractors, liaising with Site Personnel
* Compilation of Safety Files and O&M Manuals.
Essential Job Requirements:
* Hold a recognised HSQE qualification of a minimum NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction or IOSH.
* Minimum of 4 years HSQE experience in the construction industry
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken.
* Excellent planning, organisational, training, teamwork, problem resolution and presentation skills.
