Quantity Surveyor
We are working in close partnership with a multi-disciplined global consultancy delivering one of Europe’s most high-profile infrastructure projects – Hinkley Point C, the UK’s first new nuclear power station in over a generation. The project is currently seven years into construction with an estimated three years remaining until completion.
Project Overview:
Our client holds responsibility for two key packages of work:
* Roads & Networks
* Ancillary Buildings
To support these packages, we are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the site-based commercial team and help drive the commercial performance, compliance, and delivery of these complex civil engineering works.
Role Responsibilities:
* Administer and manage contracts under the NEC suite, ensuring compliance with commercial obligations
* Provide support in cost forecasting, budget control, and risk management
* Assist in the assessment of variations, valuations, and change control processes
* Contribute to commercial reporting and regular reviews with contractors and stakeholders
* Work collaboratively with project teams to ensure alignment on contract delivery and cost management
* Support dispute avoidance and, where necessary, resolution
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or large infrastructure projects
* Solid understanding of NEC contracts (ECC preferred)
* Background in either client-side consultancy or main contractor environments welcomed
* Strong commercial acumen with attention to detail and proactive problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline preferred
Working Model:
* Hybrid working arrangement: 2 days per week onsite in Bridgwater, 3 days remote
* All travel, accommodation, and related expenses fully reimbursed
