Quantity Surveyor- Hotels/New Builds

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor / Employer’s Agent to join our growing hotel and leisure team based in Birmingham. The candidate should ideally have a minimum of three years’ experience in the hotel / leisure industry and will have either completed their APC or be on the path to completion. They need to be self-motivated, have their own transport, be willing to travel nationwide and can work on their own initiative.

About the role:

The day-to-day activities will include managing estimating and cost planning activities, applying value management techniques, liaising with the Client and design team while monitoring progress on site, attending site meetings, answering queries, issuing variations, cost reporting and ensuring compliance of the Client’s requirements. It will also include the placing and coordination of FF&E orders. Pro-actively monitoring and managing cost variance and contract cash flow and ensuring that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner. The candidate will ensure that Final Accounts are negotiated and agreed and coordinate a successful and timely Practical Completion. The candidate will have the ambition and drive to deliver a high-quality professional service and will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels and good Client facing skills. They will have effective problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions, be a good team worker with the ability to work with the minimum of supervision using their own initiative with a flexible approach to work, with the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively. The role will involve working as part of a team to deliver new build and refurbishment hotel projects, managing multiple projects from inception to completion. About the salary:

Candidates should hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle and a willingness to travel for work.
