Building Surveyor

Our client is a multi-disciplinary consultancy providing high-level services in building surveying, project management, cost consultancy, fire safety, and construction oversight across England and Wales. With several offices across the UK, they are well established in delivering complex projects within the residential, mixed-use, education, healthcare, and student accommodation sectors.

They are currently seeking a Building Surveyor to join their London office due to continued growth. The role offers a balanced workload across project-led and professional instructions, with a strong focus on project delivery. Typical projects include refurbishment schemes, façade remediation works, and major external and internal renovations ranging in value from £500k to £6m.

Building Surveyor Job Overview

Delivering a broad range of professional surveying services including defect diagnosis, maintenance programming, landlord and tenant matters, reinstatement cost assessments, and party wall advice
Managing refurbishment and remediation projects as Contract Administrator or Lead Consultant
Preparing specifications and overseeing delivery across varied asset classes
Acting as a key client interface throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborating with an internal multi-disciplinary team including cost managers, fire engineers, and project managers

Building Surveyor Job Requirements

Degree in Building Surveying or related field
Ideally working towards chartership
Minimum 2 years' relevant consultancy experience
Strong technical knowledge of JCT contracts (NEC experience is a bonus)
Ambition to progress within a growing, people-focused consultancy
Based within commuting distance of Central London
