Our client is a well-established building services contractor delivering mechanical and maintenance solutions across a wide range of high-value commercial projects. With a growing portfolio and a focus on quality, safety, and client care, they operate across sectors including office fit-outs, healthcare, leisure, and specialist environments.

Our client is now looking to add a Mechanical Estimator to the team. You will be responsible for preparing and submitting accurate cost estimates, managing all aspects of the tendering process, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying value engineering opportunities to ensure commercially viable and competitive bids.

Competitive salary up to £75,000, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and submit prime cost estimates using estimating software.
Analyse drawings, specifications, and related documentation to ensure accurate cost assessments.
Liaise with internal teams, external engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather essential project information.
Identify opportunities for alternative designs and value engineering to enhance cost-efficiency.
Conduct negotiations and manage all aspects of the tendering process.
Maintain and update supplier and subcontractor directories.
Organise, control, and maintain tender documentation throughout the bidding process.
Build and sustain strong client relationships to support successful tender submissions and project acquisition.Mechanical Estimator

Role Requirements

Proven experience in mechanical estimating within the building services or construction industry.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tendering processes, and cost estimation techniques.
Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications and conduct effective site assessments.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
