Document Controller
My Walsall based client are looking for a Document Controller to join their expanding team on a full time and permanent basis.
The successful candidate will have expertise in ASITE to manage, track, and distribute project documentation for major engineering or construction projects. You will be responsible for maintaining the document control system, ensuring compliance with company and project standards, and facilitating communication across all project stakeholders via the ASITE platform.
Duties:-
* Manage and maintain all controlled documents using ASITE.
* Set up and manage document control processes and workflows within ASITE, including transmittals, RFIs, submittals, and drawing revisions.
* Ensure proper version control and archiving of project documentation.
* Support project teams by uploading, downloading, and distributing documents through ASITE and Client CDE’s in accordance with project procedures.
* Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and adherence to naming conventions and metadata standards.
* Generate reports, dashboards, and trackers from ASITE for document control status, overdue items, and compliance.
* Liaise with internal teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure timely submission and review of documentation.
* Train and support team members and project stakeholders in the use of ASITE and document management best practices.
Key Skills:-
* Proven experience as a Document Controller, ideally within the construction or engineering sector.
* Strong working knowledge of ASITE and its document management modules.
* Familiarity with document control procedures, quality systems, and ISO standards.
* High attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* If you have any knowledge of other CDE platforms (e.g., Aconex, Viewpoint, ProjectWise) this would be advantageous
* Experience working on large infrastructure or public sector projects.
* Basic understanding of BIM and project lifecycles.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
* Document Control certification or ASITE training (advantageous)
