Job Title: Pre-Construction Manager – Flooring Industry
Location: Essex (Head Office – no on-site parking available)
Salary: £40k – £50k

We’re recruiting for a growing interiors and fit-out specialist for Pre-Construction Manager job, looking for Project Manager, Estimator or Site Supervisors with experience within flooring. This organisation have a strong reputation in the commercial and residential sectors. They’re looking for an experienced industry professional to lead the pre-construction phase and act as the technical bridge between estimating, clients, and delivery teams.
About the Role:
As Pre-Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for everything from technical reviews and material approvals to samples, scheduling, and client coordination. You’ll ensure that every project kicks off with clear direction, fully approved specs, and all required materials in place.
This is a key role with scope to influence project outcomes from the very start — ideal for someone from a Project Manager, Estimator, or Site Supervisor background within the flooring sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Receive detailed handovers from estimating and review specifications
* Attend client and design meetings, offering technical input and advice
* Coordinate and manage all material samples, lead times, and approvals
* Create and maintain sample/build schedules and technical documentation
* Handle all client portal uploads and pre-construction queries
* Price and manage variations during the pre-construction phase
* Place main material orders and prepare internal procurement lists
* Ensure timely and detailed handovers to the operations team
* Track all activity and information using project management software
Requirements:
* Experience in the flooring industry is essential
* Strong understanding of fit-out/refurb projects and technical finishes
* Background in estimating, site supervision, or project management
* Organised, proactive, and confident dealing with clients and supply chain
* Comfortable working in a structured, fast-paced office environment
