Electrical AP

We are seeking an experienced and highly competent Electrical Appointed Person (AP) to join a leading subcontractor on a major highways project in Surrey.

As an Electrical AP, you will be responsible for the safe and effective management of all electrical works, ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations and standards. This is a critical role requiring a strong technical background, a proactive approach to safety, and the ability to work effectively within a demanding project environment.

This is an immediate requirement with work continuing into early 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as the Electrical Appointed Person for all High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems on the project.
Issue and sign Lock-Off Certificates and other necessary safety documentation.
Oversee and conduct electrical testing, commissioning, and livening of systems.
Ensure all electrical works are carried out to BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) standards.
Implement and enforce strict safety procedures and protocols.
Liaise with the principal contractor, project management, and other stakeholders.
Provide technical guidance and support to the electrical team.
Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify potential hazards.Requirements:

Proven experience as an Electrical Appointed Person on major infrastructure or highways projects.
Extensive experience with both High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems.
Strong practical experience in electrical testing, commissioning, and livening.
In-depth knowledge and experience of working to BS7671 standards.
Valid SSSTS or SMSTS
Valid CSCS card
Flexibility to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
