Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 per annum
Location: Southwark, SE London
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent

We are currently working in partnership with a £25 million turnover main contractor renowned for delivering high-quality projects across social housing refurbishment, heritage, new build, repairs, and maintenance.

Established over 30 years ago, this company has built a strong reputation by resisting the pressures of "turnover building" and instead focusing on quality delivery, backed by a consistent commitment to reinvestment. Their client base includes local authorities, social housing providers, government agencies, historic estates, and education departments.

The Role:

We’re seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join this respected contractor and provide key support to their contract delivery teams. The role will focus on procurement, document control, and cost management—playing an important part in the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with procurement activities including sourcing and supplier management

Support accurate and compliant document control procedures

*

Help manage project costs and budget reporting

*

Work closely with project managers and senior QSs to ensure seamless project execution

Requirements:

Professionally qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

*

A proactive, detail-focused approach with excellent organizational skills

*

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in team settings

*

Previous experience in construction or contracting environments preferred
