Public Liaison Officer

Our client, a leading civil engineering and infrastructure company, is seeking a Public Liaison Officer to join their team on a project in Maidstone for 2-3 days a week.This is a key role in ensuring smooth communication between the company, the public, and key stakeholders on high-profile infrastructure projects across the region.
🛠 About the Role:
As a Public Liaison Officer, you will be the face and voice of the company in the community. Your role will be to manage relationships with residents, local authorities, and stakeholders to ensure concerns are addressed and project information is clearly communicated throughout the lifecycle of our works.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:

Act as the primary point of contact for public and stakeholder enquiries

Communicate project plans, progress, and impacts to the local community
*
Organise and attend public meetings, site visits, and community engagement events
*
Work closely with project managers and site teams to understand ongoing works
*
Resolve complaints and ensure a high standard of customer service
*
Prepare and distribute newsletters, leaflets, and updates
*
Support with media and communications materials when needed
👤 About You:

Previous experience in public engagement, communications, or customer-facing roles – ideally within construction or infrastructure
*
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*
Professional, approachable, and confident dealing with people at all levels
*
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
