Procurement Category Manager – Construction
Daily rate: £360-£375
Location: Central London (Hybrid working)
Contract: 6 months (possible extension)

We're working with a globally recognised organisation on an exciting Procurement Category Manager opportunity within their European real estate and construction function. If you're a procurement professional with solid category management experience and a strong background in the construction industry, this could be a brilliant next step.

The Role
You'll take the lead on strategic sourcing and procurement activities across a variety of large-scale real estate and infrastructure projects across Europe. This is a hands-on role where you'll partner with stakeholders across the project lifecycle to drive value, innovation, and sustainability in the construction supply chain.

You'll be working across multiple trades, including civil, architectural, interior fit-out, MEP systems, and fire protection, engaging with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers across Europe. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing strategies across all construction categories and supplier tiers
Manage tenders, contracts, and supplier onboarding – with commercial and technical accuracy
Deliver cost savings through value engineering, supply chain optimisation, and smart negotiation
Build and maintain excellent supplier relationships across the UK and Europe
Provide market intelligence and insight to drive decisions on sustainability, risk, and innovation
Champion continuous improvement and automation of procurement tools and processes
Collaborate closely with construction, legal, design, real estate, and finance teams
Occasional travel may be required across Europe (up to 25%), as well as ad-hoc day trips within the UK.What We're Looking For

Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement, category management, or commercial management roles
Proven experience in construction procurement is essential
Deep understanding of construction contracts, trades, and industry dynamics
Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Experience in managing large-scale contracts across regions and business units
A strategic thinker with an eye for both the detail and the bigger picture
Comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, agile environmentBonus points if you have:
