Package Manager
We are working with a leading Tier 2 main contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex and high-profile infrastructure projects across the UK. They are currently delivering multiple packages on a major infrastructure project in West London, and are seeking an experienced and dedicated Package Manager to join their team.
The Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and proactive Package Manager to take ownership of critical cladding and steel packages on a major infrastructure project in West London. This is a pivotal role that requires a comprehensive understanding of complex construction packages and the ability to drive successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Package Management: Full responsibility for the planning, execution, and delivery of the cladding and steel packages, ensuring adherence to programme, budget, and quality standards.
Change Management: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate any changes to the package scope, programme, or cost, ensuring all changes are formally documented and approved.
Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the cladding and steel packages, fostering strong collaborative relationships with designers, engineers, the client, and other senior stakeholders.
Technical Oversight: Work closely with design teams and engineers to ensure constructability, compliance with specifications, and resolution of technical queries.
Subcontractor Management: Oversee the performance of subcontractors, ensuring they meet their contractual obligations and deliver to the required standards.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks associated with the packages and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Reporting: Provide regular, accurate, and comprehensive reports on package progress, risks, and financial performance to senior management.
Health & Safety: Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring all site activities within your packages are carried out in accordance with company policies and relevant regulations.What We're Looking For:
Main Contractor Experience: Significant and demonstrable experience working as a Package Manager or similar senior role for a main contractor in the UK.
Infrastructure Project Experience: Proven experience on major infrastructure projects, ideally with exposure to large-scale structural or architectural packages.
Cladding & Steel Expertise: Specific experience in managing complex cladding and steel packages is highly desirable.
Educational Background: HNC or higher in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Qualifications: Valid CSCS Card is essential.
Skills:
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Demonstrable experience in managing change within construction projects.
Ability to read and interpret complex drawings and specifications.
Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
