Repairs Surveyor

We are looking for a diligent Surveyor who is proficient at managing public sector construction projects. The ideal candidate should be adept at overseeing all aspects of the surveying of Social Housing Stock.

Description

Conduct property inspections to diagnose building defects and assess repair requirements.

Specify, schedule, and oversee responsive and planned repair works.

Raise, manage, and monitor works orders using housing/repairs management systems.

Liaise with contractors and in-house teams to ensure timely and quality completion of works.

Ensure repairs comply with health & safety, housing legislation, and relevant regulations.

Monitor contractor performance and complete post-inspections for quality assurance.

Provide technical advice to tenants, colleagues, and stakeholders.

Manage disrepair claims and liaise with legal teams where necessary.

Maintain accurate records, survey data, and property condition reports.

Support void inspections, prepare scopes of work, and ensure timely re-let.

Work collaboratively with housing officers, asset teams, and external partners.

Contribute to stock condition surveys and asset management planning.

Respond to emergency repairs and complex repair issues promptly and effectively.

Profile

A successful Surveyor should have:

An educational qualification in Surveying or a related discipline
Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software
Solid knowledge of construction regulations and standards
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and collaboration abilities
