Contracts Manager

CJS Recruitment is seeking experienced Contracts Managers on behalf of our client – a well-established commercial flooring contractor based in East Peckham.
The company provides a comprehensive flooring service to clients in the New Build, Housing Association, Commercial, and Business sectors, with expertise in fitting carpets, laminate, vinyl, LVT, wood flooring, carpet tiles, and undertaking all necessary floor preparation.
Job specification:
As a Contract Manager, you will oversee multiple flooring installation projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered efficiently, within budget, and to specification. You will play a key role in liaising with clients, suppliers, and site teams, and will be responsible for the successful delivery of both small and large-scale flooring contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end delivery of floor laying contracts across various sites
Plan and coordinate labour, materials, and logistics to meet project timelines
Monitor project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability
Conduct site visits to oversee work progress and ensure quality standards
Build strong client relationships and provide regular updates
Manage subcontractors and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
Resolve any issues or delays in a timely and professional manner
Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar role in the flooring or construction industry
Strong understanding of floor laying processes (e.g., vinyl, carpet, hardwood, laminate, safety flooring, etc.)
Excellent project management and organisational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
Full UK driving licence (preferably)
SMSTS or SSSTS certification
