An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager with a strong civils background to join the leadership team on a flagship £9 billion UK infrastructure project. This is a key commercial role on one of the most high-profile and complex civil engineering schemes currently underway in the country.

Role Overview:

As Commercial Manager, you will take ownership of commercial strategy and delivery across significant project packages, ensuring robust financial management, contract compliance, and value for money throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead commercial management for multiple major civil engineering packages.

· Oversee contract administration, cost control, procurement, and change management.

· Manage commercial risk and drive value engineering initiatives.

· Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and supply chain partners.

· Provide accurate reporting and forecasting to senior leadership.

· Mentor and support a team of Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.

Requirements:

· Demonstrated success as a Commercial Manager on major infrastructure projects (ideally £500m+).

· Solid civil engineering background across highways, structures, utilities, earthworks, etc.

· Expert knowledge of NEC and other standard forms of contract.

· Strong leadership, negotiation, and commercial acumen.

· Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, ICE) preferred.
