Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Project Manager.
This is an interesting opportunity as you will be working for a technical services management company, providing M&E support directly to main contractors & clients who work in construction, fit out, install & refurbishment industry.
Working across all phases of projects, across various sectors – including Commercial, Industrial, Healthcare, Residential and Schools. Project values are from £5m – £25m.
Only supporting the M&E package of the build.
Areas where your skills & technical experience could be utilised
* Validation surveys
* Initial M&E review of the clients tender documentation in order to write a section for the main contractors tender submission
* Initial M&E review of the clients tender documents to highlight any project specific key issues and potential long lead items that may affect the programme
* Attend project interviews with the main contractor
* Manage the M&E installations on site including undertaking weekly minutes M&E meetings
* Manage the M&E design process; comment technically on the contractors proposed installation drawings; ensure that consultants drawing and technical comments are closed out efficiently
* Undertake M&E snagging exercise on site and ensure all issues are closed out
* Work closely with the project planner to ensure that the M&E programme is sufficiently detailed
* Attend the weekly client project meetings to manage and answer all M&E client queries
* Undertake a commissioning management role
* Write detailed M&E commissioning programmes
* Manage the commissioning and client training process
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage projects, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
* Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and subcontractors to facilitate project execution.
* Develop project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
* Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to maintain timelines.
* Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
* Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders, addressing any concerns or changes in project scope.
* Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date throughout the project lifecycle.
* Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and problem-solving.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an Project Manager or similar role in the construction or engineering industry.
* Strong knowledge of electrical & mechanical systems and regulations.
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
* Relevant qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or project management are preferred.
