Location: Council Offices, Southfield Road, Loughborough, LE11 2TX

Contract: 6+ Months          

Pay Rate: £ 16.70

Working Hours: 37 Working Hours Per Week

Responsibilities

Support the Principal Officer in driving and developing services to achieve top quartile performance.

Facilitate and supervise housing repairs and void maintenance services.

Deliver high-quality customer standards through proactive tenant and leaseholder engagement.

Identify, develop, and implement new business opportunities within repairs and maintenance.

Lead, develop, and motivate the repairs and maintenance teams to meet time, cost, and quality targets.

Ensure all employees focus on quality and customer service delivery.

Provide equality in service delivery and manage the in-house repairs service.

Resolve complaints about the repairs and maintenance service promptly and professionally.

Act as a lead officer on safeguarding for the repairs and maintenance service.

Ensure performance accountability and a commitment to delivering excellent customer-focused services.

Contribute to the council’s out-of-hours call-out service.

Develop and maintain a customer-focused culture, values, and reputation in all markets.

Ensure effective budgetary management and control of resources.

Support the development of repairs and maintenance strategies agreed upon by Residents, the Board, and Executive Management Team.

Ensure compliance with legal, statutory, and relevant provisions affecting the council.

Manage and control all expenditure within the defined budgets allocated to the Repairs & Voids Maintenance service.

Ensure all specified maintenance work complies with current regulations and legislation.

Deputize for the Principal Officer and cover for staff as necessary.

Prepare comprehensive written reports following investigations and inspections.

Support in enabling requirements such as waste management, transport, and vehicle management.

Person Specification

Qualifications in Building Studies/Construction Management or equivalent level.

Experience in delivering high-quality in-house repairs and maintenance services.

Ability to create a vision for a service and operate strategically.

Knowledge of the legal and statutory framework relating to repairs and maintenance services.

Ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.

Excellent attention to detail and decision-making skills.

Experience in managing safeguarding issues for both adults and children.

Commercially astute with an understanding of commercial implications and risks.

Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
