Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a well-established and highly regarded subcontractor, is seeking an ambitious and detail-focused Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll work alongside experienced professionals to support the commercial and operational delivery of scaffolding packages. Your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the preparation of tenders and cost estimates

Evaluating subcontractor quotes and supporting procurement activities

Preparing valuations, progress claims, variations, and final accounts

Tracking project costs, analysing margins, and reporting on commercial performance

Attending site visits and client meetings to provide commercial input

Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, health and safety standards, and financial targets

Providing support to senior commercial staff and contributing to continuous process improvement

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum 1 years' experience in a Quantity Surveying or Estimating role

A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a similar discipline

Experience within a construction subcontractor environment is highly desirable

Knowledge or experience in scaffolding, access, or temporary works is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with quantity surveying software is an advantage

Strong analytical and organisational skills

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
