Role
We are looking for a experienced Project Manager to lead a £8m Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) scheme based in Cambridge, delivering energy efficiency upgrades to occupied homes as part of a broader commitment to sustainability and tenant wellbeing. Scope of works include; EWI (External Wall Insulation), PV (Photovoltaic solar panels), and ASHP (Air Source Heat Pumps).
You’ll take ownership of the planning and delivery of retrofit works—ensuring compliance, safety, tenant satisfaction, and successful project outcomes in a live environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead day-to-day delivery of retrofit works on occupied social housing properties.
* Manage site teams, subcontractors, and programme delivery against SHDF standards and PAS 2035/2030 requirements.
* Ensure strong tenant communication and satisfaction, minimising disruption during works.
* Oversee health & safety, quality control, and environmental compliance.
* Collaborate with retrofit coordinators, energy assessors, and supply chain partners.
* Report on project progress, budgets, risks, and KPIs to senior leadership.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience delivering occupied refurbishment or retrofit projects, ideally within the social housing sector.
* Knowledge of SHDF and energy-efficient retrofit principles.
* Strong communication and people management skills, particularly with residents and stakeholders.
* SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification required.
* Retrofit Coordinator (desirable) or willingness to work alongside qualified professionals.
