Project Manager (HVAC)
We're hiring an experienced Project Manager to join a M&E client I'm working with on a 6-month (minimum) contract, delivering high-spec commercial interior fit-out projects across the UK. This is an Outside IR35 role, starting ASAP, and offers the opportunity to be part of a detail-driven, design-led team trusted by global brands and agencies.
You'll manage full project delivery from planning through to handover, ensuring programme, budget, and quality standards are consistently met-while maintaining clear communication with clients, subcontractors, and site teams.
🛠️ Key Details:
Contract: Full-time freelance (Outside IR35)
Duration: 6 months minimum
Start Date: ASAP
Location: Office-based in Cambridgeshire, with approx. 1 site visit per week, the rest of your time will be based in the office.
Sector: Interior Fit-Out / Commercial Construction
🔧 Your Responsibilities:
Lead fit-out project delivery from pre-construction through to completion
Coordinate clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams to ensure smooth execution
Oversee project timelines, procurement, budgets, and quality benchmarks
Conduct weekly site visits to support on-site teams and review progress
Hold regular project meetings and maintain accurate reporting
Ensure compliance with CDM, HSE regulations, and internal quality standards
Resolve technical or operational challenges quickly and professionally✅ Your Background:
Proven experience delivering interior fit-out or refurbishment projects (commercial, retail, or hospitality)
Strong knowledge of HVAC, M&E, and P&ID in construction environments
Experience managing complex mechanical and electrical installations
Ability to manage multiple projects with confidence and attention to detail
Proficiency with MS Project (or equivalent planning tools)
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel weekly for site visits📩 Interested?
