Commercial Manager
The client is a leading UK specialist in the design and installation of temperature-controlled, hygienic, and fire-rated environments.
They are seeking a highly organised and experienced Group Commercial Manager to take full responsibility for the Commercial Team and all commercial elements of projects. This role requires a professional who is adept at managing complex client relationships and has a solid background in construction, particularly with experience in cladding, cold rooms, fire safety, or clean rooms.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
Manage the Group's Commercial Team and oversee all commercial aspects of the Group's projects.
Collaborate with senior management to ensure projects are managed efficiently and collaboratively.
Produce projected valuations and cash flows and carry out pre-lets with all subcontractors.
Negotiate contract conditions with clients and manage the commercial relationship effectively.
Provide leadership and cover for the QS team, including during annual leave.
Chair commercial workload meetings and manage the distribution of new projects within the team.
Ensure timely pricing of all variations and maintain logs of retentions owed.
Work closely with the Installation Manager to optimize subcontractor relationships and team performance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Degree in Commercial Construction Management or related field.
Minimum of 10 years' experience at a Senior QS, Managing QS, or Commercial Manager level.
Strong ability to negotiate and manage contracts, including familiarity with JCT and NEC Contracts.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team across diverse locations.
Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas as required.
