Estimating Manager

Estimating Manager – Facade & Building Envelope | Hampshire | Permanent

The Solution Group are working with a specialist contractor within the facade and building envelope sector that is looking to appoint an experienced Estimating Manager to lead their pre-construction pricing function.

This is a senior-level position offering the opportunity to take ownership of the full tendering process — from initial enquiry through to submission — while working closely with design, procurement, and commercial teams across a range of complex UK-wide projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the preparation of tenders, estimates, and cost plans

*

Review architectural drawings and specifications with a keen eye for technical and commercial detail

*

Identify and develop value engineering opportunities

*

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to support accurate pricing

*

Lead the compilation and submission of detailed bid packages

*

Oversee handovers to internal departments and ensure alignment on scope and cost

*

Provide guidance to junior estimators and support their development

*

Represent the estimating function in client meetings and internal reviews

What We’re Looking For:

*

Proven experience in estimating within the facade or external envelope sector

*

Prior experience in a senior or managerial estimating role

*

Solid understanding of cladding, curtain walling, and aluminium glazing systems

*

Strong analytical and commercial skills

*

High level of accuracy and attention to detail

*

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word)

*

Confident communicator and team leader

Role Details:

Location: Office-based near Waterlooville, Hampshire

*

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:30

*

Type: Full-time, permanent

*

Reporting to: Pre-Construction Director
