Position Title: Senior Estimator/Estimator

Strategic Work:
Build and maintain strong relationships both internally and with the supply chain.
Manage the commercial tendering process to get best market value for a project.
Actively participate in tender kick offs, mid tender meetings, finalisations, post tender interviews and, internal handovers on project award.
Recommend and develop improved systems and procedures for the business.Tactical Work:
Participate in team workshops throughout the tender period to provide an update to the wider team on current tendering progress.
Ensure that any alternative design, finishes, or VE options proposed by the supply chain are put forward to the wider internal team to determine and agree viability.
Work alongside the internal design team and preferred supply chain to integrate the design proposal for alternative build solutions.
Generate and maintain cost finalisation documents for each tender opportunity with received quotes included and levelled to make sure fair comparisons can be made on a like for like basis.
Prepare, negotiate, manage, and agree the commercial finalisation both as part of the project team during the soft finalisation and with the senior management during the formal finalisation.
Ensure any tender addendums, queries etc. are fully reviewed and passed on to the relevant parties, either to the client team for sub-contractor raised queries (if they cannot be answered internally) or to the supply chain for new information and answers to queries raised etc.
Ensure that all client queries raised post tender are answered by the relevant parties in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare and submit all tender commercial information to the relevant bid coordinator in a timely manner to allow them the necessary time to compile the final submission.Standards:
Position Specific:
Achieve the Pre-Construction Standards.
Bring technical ability in all aspects of the role: including the review and analysis of sub-contractor proposals, proposal of potential VE / better buying where applicable.
Manage the issuing and return of tender enquires to the supply chain to make sure that both the best market price is achieved, and that the commercial submission is in line with the technical submission.
Monitor the overall market conditions and rates and share with the wider team.Company-Wide:
