Senior Civil Engineer – Education & Multi-Sector Projects
Location: Birmingham or Nottingham (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum

A leading engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team, working across education and multi-sector developments. Based in either Birmingham or Nottingham, this hybrid role offers the chance to shape key civil infrastructure schemes across the UK.
You will be responsible for delivering civil engineering design and assessment for a variety of projects, with a focus on drainage, highways, and external works packages. The role is ideal for someone with a solid background in consultancy and strong client-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering works including site infrastructure, drainage, SUDS, and highways.
* Undertake site inspections and produce engineering reports and assessments.
* Liaise with clients, architects, planners, and contractors to ensure smooth project coordination.
* Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
* Manage your own workload and contribute to business development when needed.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience working as a Civil Engineer in a consultancy environment.
* Strong technical skills in infrastructure design (roads, drainage, external works).
* Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar.
* Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable:
* Chartered or working towards Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent).
* Experience in the education or public sector is a plus, but not essential.
Working Conditions:
* Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote or site-based.
* Offices located in both Birmingham and Nottingham – flexible base.

Salary & Benefits:
