Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer (Intermediate to Senior considered)
Location: Greater Southampton (Full-time office-based with ad hoc WFH flexibility)
Salary: £40,000 to £45,000 Intermediate, up to £60,000 for Senior
My client, a nationally respected building services consultancy, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team in the Greater Southampton area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects with a strong focus on decarbonisation and sustainability.
About the Role:The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and delivery of mechanical building services projects across a variety of sectors. Current and upcoming projects include:
Decarbonisation schemes for hospitals and public sector estates
New-build educational facilities
Healthcare infrastructure upgradesThis role is ideally suited to an Intermediate to Senior level Mechanical Engineer with a passion for sustainable design and a desire to work on technically challenging and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Design of mechanical systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, and ventilation
Production of detailed design drawings and specifications
Collaboration with electrical engineers and other disciplines
Site visits, surveys, and client meetings
Supporting junior engineers and contributing to technical developmentRequirements:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
Proven experience in mechanical design within a consultancy environment
Strong understanding of UK building regulations and CIBSE guidelines
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and IES or similar
Excellent communication and teamwork skillsTerms / benefits:
